How to use the filter bottle

1. Collect the clearest available freshwater and avoid disturbing sediment.
2. Secure the filter-cap assembly tightly on the bottle.
3. Open the MuckGuard™ and twist the drinking valve to the open position.
4. Squeeze the bottle while drinking through the nozzle.
5. Twist the valve closed and replace the MuckGuard™ after use.

Filtration scope and responsible use

The hollow-fibre filter is designed for common bacteria and parasitic cysts in freshwater. Filter performance depends on correct use, maintenance and source-water conditions. For water containing other hazards or uncertain contamination, use an appropriate additional treatment method and follow local safety advice.

Filter care and freeze protection

• Never allow the filter to freeze: freezing can damage the hollow-fibre membrane and make the filter unsafe to rely on.
• In freezing conditions, keep the filter close to your body and protected from sub-zero temperatures.
• Backflush the filter as directed when the flow rate decreases.
• Use only clean water for backflushing.
• Allow the bottle to dry fully and store the filter according to HydraPak’s manual.
• Replace the filter when it reaches its service limit, becomes damaged or can no longer be restored by proper backflushing.
