Keep a hydration reservoir more usable when temperatures drop. The HydraPak ArcticFusion™ Tube is a premium insulated drink-tube assembly for skiing, snowboarding and cold-weather mountain travel, combining extra foam insulation with a high-flow Phaser™ bite valve and Plug-N-Play™ reservoir connector.
The charcoal outer sleeve helps slow heat loss along the hose while protecting the tube in demanding winter conditions. It is designed as a cold-weather upgrade for compatible HydraPak reservoirs—not as a guarantee against freezing—so good winter hydration technique remains essential.
Key features
- Cold-weather insulation: foam around the drink tube helps slow freezing in low temperatures.
- Extra foam coverage: HydraPak specifies 50% more insulation than competing insulated tubes.
- Phaser™ bite valve: angled high-flow valve supports convenient drinking while moving.
- Protective dust cover: shields the drinking valve from snow, mud and pack grime.
- Plug-N-Play™ connection: attaches quickly to compatible HydraPak reservoirs and disconnects for refilling.
- Full pack-routing length: 91.44 cm / 36 in tube suits common winter backpacks.
- Mountain focused: developed for skiing, snowboarding and high-altitude winter use.
- BPA- and PVC-free materials: made from TPU, PP/POM and silicone.

Compatibility
The ArcticFusion™ Tube uses HydraPak’s Plug-N-Play™ reservoir connection. Confirm that your reservoir has the same connector before ordering. Its 6 mm internal tube diameter does not fit the standard HydraPak tube magnet.
Cold-weather use guidance
- The bite valve is not fully insulated: it can freeze before the insulated section of the tube.
- After drinking, blow remaining water back into the reservoir so it does not sit inside the tube or valve.
- Keep the valve protected inside a jacket, insulated shoulder-strap sleeve or sheltered pocket when practical.
- Drink regularly; a valve left exposed and unused for long periods is more likely to freeze.
- In extreme cold, carry an independent backup water source.
Installation
- Empty the reservoir and disconnect the existing tube at the Plug-N-Play™ port.
- Inspect and clean the reservoir connection.
- Insert the ArcticFusion™ connector until it is securely seated.
- Route the tube without sharp bends and keep as much of it protected by the pack as possible.
- Fill the reservoir and test the connection, valve and flow before entering cold conditions.
Cleaning and storage
- Rinse after every use, especially after drink mixes.
- Clean the internal tube with an appropriately sized hydration-tube brush.
- Wash and inspect the bite valve and dust cover separately.
- Dry the tube completely before storage to limit odour and residue.
- Replace the assembly if the tubing, insulation, connector or valve becomes damaged.
Compare HydraPak tube and reservoir options
| Product | Best for | Key difference |
|---|---|---|
| ArcticFusion™ Tube | Freezing and winter conditions | Maximum cold-weather tube insulation with Phaser™ valve. |
| HydraFlex™ Tube | Lightweight three-season use | Clear, non-insulated replacement tube weighing 51 g. |
| Force™ 2L | Rugged hydration and moderate insulation | Complete reservoir supplied with a lighter HydraFusion™ insulated tube. |
| Contour™ 2L / 3L | Low-profile hiking and ski packs | Compatible reservoir platform that can be upgraded with ArcticFusion™. |
Choose the ArcticFusion™ Tube when cold-weather flow protection matters more than minimum weight, and always use winter practices to protect the exposed valve from freezing.
