Many things change with time. Thankfully. After all, this is the only way for good things to get better. The grippy Vibram outsole remains unchanged. But a cushioning midsole and a number of functional details have been added to enhance the footwear. What's more, the asymmetrical C4 tongue creates maximum wearing comfort. The system that features X-LACING, the dual-zone lacing and roller eyelets also creates a fit that is tailored to each wearer's individual needs. To help people walk naturally, we have added a lace hook that works in combination with the FLEXFIT system and reduced the amount of material used in this area. To prepare this moderately stiff hiking boot for any type of weather, the tough nubuk leather of which the footwear is made is equipped with a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane.
