Valley of Shadows

A traditional Kath Kuni home in a hamlet in Parvati Valley. 

The multi-level structure, made of stone and wood, blends into the scenic mountain backdrop. The lower floor houses cattle, the mid-levels store grain, and the top floor is for living.

The construction uses wood of the Deodar tree.

A Himalayan saying goes, "Deodar wood lasts 1,000 years in water and ten times longer in air."

This print showcases the harmony between rural Himalayan life and nature.
